Great stay! Felt just like home. It is nice to wake up and be able to make coffee! The beds we're SUPER comfortable. We will definitely stay again! Everyone was super friendly.
Really likes this place. Don't be put off by the word motel, here it's a good thing, it just means that it's not a giant apartment complex. The rooms are easily accessible, and parking is convenient. Location is fine, close enough to the beach, a short car ride. It makes up for it by being cheaper. Room is comfortable and modern. Bed was great. Good living room. Comfortable kitchen and amenities. Would stay here again.
The kitchenette is convenient and it's a cozy place with vintage-feeling decor, but ants were a consistent sight from the moment we arrived, and it seemed the staff wasn't overly concerned with the overall cleanliness of their establishment. We found garbage underneath the couch and bed, and the dishes provided weren't clean before we used them. The smoke detector went off any time we used the toaster or stovetop. Feels like it could be greatly improved with a bit more effort from staff, unfortunately we won't be returning to find out.
The Driftwood Motel was a warm and welcoming place. Upon check-in, we were greeted by the owner himself, who proceeded to give us information about the surrounding area. He came off as knowledgeable about the area as well as kind. The rooms themselves were decent. They were a little on the outdated side, but were very clean and spacious. We were pleased with the full kitchen and fridge that was included. It is less like a motel and more like an apartment. The location allows for convenient travel routes.
We booked this on a whim so we could be at the beach on July 4th. We were so surprised and happy with our room. Super clean. Very comfortable. The bed was well above any chain hotel. It's like a little one bedroom apartment. Full kitchen with actual USABLE dishes and pots/pans. Convenient location. We will definitely stay here again. Close to Cape Henlopen state park! Also, the outlets. No pool, no frills but you won't be disappointed! Friendly staff!
