What a great program by Friends Of Cape Henlopen. You can borrow a bike & helmet for up to 2 hours for free (although they accept and need donations)
Their maintenance of the bikes has improved over the years, but still keep an eye out for loose seats etc. These get used a lot, so it's not surprising.
Because they go fast, it's best to get there early if you can.
Two hours use of loaner, no cost, single speed beach cruiser to tour the many park paved bike trails. They have 40+ adult bikes and 15 bike for children so on a first come, first served basis the only negative is all available bikes could be loaned out and you might have to wait for an hour to get a bike after it is returned.
Very friendly staff and took a bike ride of the park visiting the WWII historical monuments and exploring the natural ecosystem of the area.
