Meet with Bob first week of October and thought he was a stand up guy and could help me with a New Construction as our builder was unable to finish our house so I had to do this on my own.
My recommendation is to do your homework before hiring any HVAC and ask people for recommendations. Sometimes who you think maybe Top Notch are not.
This company will provide reasonable service AS LONG AS NOTHING goes wrong. I had been a customer purchasing their service contract for years. When I had to replace one of my heat pumps and the controller that was in the roof, a vent had to be cut in the wall to replace the old controller, a $6,800 job. Next time it rained the roof fell in on two floors from water damage. they tried to convince me it was from this little tiny area near the vent pipe which wasn't even near the water leak. When I pointed out they broke a pipe when putting in the controller and that the leak was directly below the vent they placed in the wall they went into SILENT MODE. I called every day for 10-12 days and was told the only person who could take care of my problem was "the boss". Even though I was told a note was placed on his desk each day and that he was aware of my complaint, I NEVER EVER heard back from anyone and that was about three months ago. These people are irresponsible and are only reasonable if nothing goes wrong but that is what you have called on them for in the first place. Rate them about a minus 3 stars
Top Notch installed a heater for us in October and it has been running great. The other day I noticed some water leaking from the condensor, we called Bob who came out the same day and fixed our issue with no charge. Great, friendly service at an affordable price. Would recommend.

The least competent Contractor that I have come across in all of my 40 years of remodelling homes. Hired to complete work at our Church. We endured months of broken promises to show up to complete the work--and were given a string of incorrect information about the job and what could and could not be done. Work was prepaid in the context of 'saving' $1000 on equipment before an April price increase (a big mistake with this firm). After several months of non-performance we fired Top Notch. What they promised to do during four months of dragging this out, we were able to complete with another contractor within 10 days. They then stiffed the Church by refusing to refund any of the prepaid amount for the work that they never completed. BEWARE...THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU!
Luckily he had his office refund the money to me immediately...That I found to be the only truthful thing he said or did.
Within the last two weeks of waiting he kept two of his vehicles parked on my un-occupied property, (probably used it for advertisement). Whatever it was AFTER 6 WEEKS of NO SERVICE we got into a somewhat unpleasant conversation on the phone and told me " I don't need to take this, I'd rather give you back your deposit"
Bob said he could install the HVAC and fix areas that needed repair. He asked for half down, then 40% and 10% at start up. After he took my $9,000 deposit he said the truck will be at my house tomorrow with parts and we will start next week....HUH!
When next week came I heard he went on Vacation....then when he came back he said he was waiting for parts, then he said these little old ladies were without heat and he had to attend to them first and the last excuse was it was raining that day! all this within a 6 week time frame. Meanwhile without HVAC we are living in a inn and its very difficult to say the least, can't get our CO to move in our house and can't finish the house ( floors and carpeting without the HVAC).
